RESOPHONIC PICKUPS by HIGHLANDER
MANUFACTURER'S NOTES
The pickup is easily mounted in the center of the pan using the existing 'pan screw hole' and the hardware that is supplied with the pickup. The clip slides onto the ‘T Bridge’ and locks firmly in place over the pickup with a gap between them as indicated above. The gap must be measured under string tension. The clip acts as a light-weight ‘Diaphragm’, any movement of the ‘T Bridge’ vibrates the clip/diaphragm, which in turn generates an electronic signal in the Pickup.
The Pickup signal is amplified by the Preamplifier to bring it up to ‘regular guitar level’. The movement of the ‘T Bridge’ is very complex, a product of the combined vibration of the three cones, string vibration and various other factors, it is at the very heart of the Tricone sound. The Magnophonic pickup captures the complex subtlety of the ‘T Bridges’ movement, accurately reproducing the Tricone’s sound.

Biscuit Bridge Pickup Specifications:
The pickup is installed in the "biscuit." The preamp mounts on the "neck stick." The pickup is ideally positioned to
capture the the complex tone and power of these instruments.
The iP-1X INLINE Preamp simplifies installation. The 1/4" output jack can be mounted anywhere on the instument
from a hole in the bout to one of the "f" holes.
The pickup is embeded in a circular groove in the underside of the Biscuit Bridge.
The pickup is connected to the preamplifier using a fully shielded RCA jack.
Unlike other pickups our pickup is sensitive to vibration in every direction, therfore, all of the complex movements of the biscuit and cone are captured, reproducing the ambience of the cone as well as a clearly defined string tone. In contrast with other piezo pickups the response of the Highlander pickup is smooth and warm with a natural dynamic.
The pickup is flexible, it's construction is similar to coaxial wire. The braid and the inner conductor are copper. Copper is malleable, which helps with the pickup's overall ability to make intimate contact with the Biscuit Bridge, which in turn is fixed to the cone.
The advanced sensing material between the inner conductor and the outer braid of the pickup generates a signal that is proportional to the vibrations that are produced by the instrument. This signal is carried by the inner conductor and the braid. The braid also shields the sensing material from electrical interference and noise.
Frequency Response: 2Hz - >400KHz Nominal Output Level: -25dB
Nominal Impedance: High > 5 Megohms

MANUFACTURER'S NOTES
Model 'D' Pickup Specifications:
The sweet tones of this classic instrument are beautifully reproduced using our Model "D" Pickup System.
Unlike other pickups, nothing directly attaches to the cone which can dampen the sound. In fact, the intregrity
of the instrument is not compromised in any way by this installation. The original tone of the instrument is free
to shine. The Model "D" pickups sound best with National Guitar Spiders. These vibrant, tonally rich
Spiders can be purchased along with the pickup. The maple biscuit that contains the pickup is attached to the
center of the underside of the spider with epoxy, which is included with the pickup.
The Pickup is embeded in a circular groove in a maple biscuit.
The Biscuit is fixed to the underside of the Spider Bridge with epoxy. 'Smart Glue' epoxy was selected for it's strength in this appilication, it is supplied in a 'self mixing' package that is easy to use and clean.
The Pickup is connected to the preamplifier using a fully shielded RCA jack.
