The secret behind Elixir® Strings' Anti-Rust Plated Steels is its proprietary alloy plating that inhibits tone-killing
corrosion. Although the new strings last longer than ordinary plain steel strings, they maintain a traditional metallic
feel with the crisp, clean tone of new strings.
Hundreds of guitarists were enlisted to test Elixir® Strings' Anti-Rust Plated Plain Steel Strings over the last two
years. The musicians were unanimous in assessing the strings' great feel and tone, and noted that tone lasted
significantly longer than the strings they had used previously. In addition, in these extended field trials, of the
used strings that were returned, nearly all exhibited little or no rust.
