BIRDS EYE MAPLE
Acer Saccharum

Birds Eye Maple, Rock Maple solid timber and wood for acoustic guitar back and sides

BOTANY:	Acer Saccharum
SOURCE:	North America and Canada
COLOURS:	Heartwood is pale brown to pale reddish brown, with darker coloured bands causing the distinctive birdseye on the quarter sawn. Sapwood light and creamy, almost white.
CHARACTER:	The texture is fine and even with the grain generally straight but sometimes can be wavy accentuating the figure
TONAL:	Related to traditional wood for the violin family, orchestral jazz and fingerstyle playing

Birds Eye Rock Maple is available as back and sides on any ellis premium guitar.
